Fall 2014 at Art Explorers

In anticipation for Halloween 

we decided to create bat posters.
We learned about negative space 
white creating colorful images.

They made for great decoration on Halloween Night.

Metal Tooling is such a fun project.

We learned about embossing and engraving as

we created these great pieces.

Someone is missing summer already.

Winter 2014 - Art Explorers Style

Owl project using charcoal and pastels.  

Students learned about utilizing the entire paper 

while experimenting with creating texture in their work. 

I love how everyone had their own idea 

about how to show the texture of the owl feathers.

Brilliant!

More Masterpieces - Art Explorers Fall 2013

My fall session of Art Explorers is coming to a close.  

Our final project was a Batik.  

A Batik is a cloth that is traditionally made 

using a manual wax-resist dyeing technique. 

We used glue instead of wax and acrylic paint instead of dye.

I think they came out GREAT!

They are just finishing up their Pumpkins in Pastel projects.
